Sean and Sue Goodwill will return from sabbatical on April 9th, 2024. They have opened their schedules to both new and returning patients to the clinic.

Kindly allow more than 24 hours notice if you are unable to attend your appointment, so that other patients may have the opportunity to receive care at that time while also avoiding a missed appointment fee. If you need to communicate with your practitioner, kindly text or call them directly at the number located in the personal bio section of the website.

Please note: The rates for osteopathic treatments have increased by 10 dollars as of January 1st, 2024

If you are a returning patient looking to book an appointment you may book a subsequent appointment with any of our other clinicians without the need for an initial consultation. However, if you have not been involved in care at Goodwill Healing for more than 2 years, please update your health history form and book an initial consultation as we are required to perform a new intake and assessment before providing treatment.

Osteopathy

Through gentle adjustment of the body, an operator works to stabilize the structure, balance the body and remove obstructions that restrict the flow of nerves, arteries, veins and lymphatics.

Massage Therapy

Massage Therapy is a manual or hands-on treatment that focuses on muscles, tendons, ligaments, connective tissue (fascia), and joints. With multiple methods and techniques, a Registered Massage Therapist works on the body to optimize the health and well-being of an individual.

Adam is a classically trained Osteopathic Manual Practitioner from the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy.

Adam’s classical training means his work is inspired by the philosophy of the founder A.T. Still, which states that healing comes from the liberation of nerve, artery, vein and lymphatic flow in the body. The way this liberation is achieved is through correction of the collective mechanics of the body. In other words, by restoring motion to areas of the body where motion has been lost, in order to improve the collective motion of the body as a unit.

Adam’s work experience prior to attending the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy was in the construction trades. He discovered Osteopathy after a back injury forced him to seek alternative care. Coming from a construction background, he views the structure of the body in a very mechanical way. Outside of work, his interests are in the outdoors, and fitness.

BIO

Doug is a classically trained osteopathic manual practitioner as a graduate of the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy (CAO) with a Masters in Practice of Osteopathic Manipulative Sciences (MPOMSc.).

Prior to pursuing an education in Osteopathy, Doug had a career of nearly 30 years in robotics and automation engineering, industrial mechanics, mechanical engineering, and electrical systems which took him around the world, several times. Although this education and experience would at first seem to be a total 180 degrees from Osteopathy, nothing could be further from the truth. Dr. Andrew T. Still, the father of Osteopathy, often referred to the importance of acting and thinking like a mechanic and engineer when regarding the systems of the body, which Doug demonstrates naturally.

Doug’s path to Osteopathy was the result of long-standing injuries from being a competitive hockey player in his teenage years. Chronic hip and shoulder injuries were a constant reminder of those younger days and he regularly sought treatment from other manual therapies with limited effect in effort to keep the surgeon away. Following a referral to see an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner, Doug’s chronic hip pain disappeared in a few visits. This was a revelation and Doug quickly read three books written by Dr. Still exclaiming, “Oh I totally get this!”. He returned to school once again to help others become free from the type of pain he suffered with for decades.

While attending the CAO, Doug was often called upon and sought out by his fellow students to explain the mechanical principles being used to adjust the body systems. It is this deep integration of the two sciences that makes Doug so effective in applying Osteopathic Manipulation and in the understanding of how the body systems are inter-related. As a lifelong learner, Doug continues to develop new knowledge through extensive reading of classical osteopathy texts and new anatomical reviews, always through the discerning eye of the now human engineer and mechanic.

Sean began his career in health sciences studying natural medicine and herbology in 1999 before graduating from ICT Kikkawa College with a diploma in massage therapy and Suikodo shiatsu in 2003. Following this, he attended McMaster University to study contemporary medical acupuncture, advanced anatomy, and dissection studies. In 2005, Sean pursued the art and science of osteopathy at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy and graduated with a Diploma in Osteopathic Manual Theory and Practice (DOMTP) in 2008. After completing his thesis on osteopathic education (principles and practice), Sean obtained a Master in Osteopathic Manipulative Sciences (MOMSC) while receiving both the John Wernham award and the A.T. Still Medal of Honour.

Between 2010 and 2014, he taught osteopathic principles and practice, wrote four books, and worked as the Educational Coordinator at the CAO. During these four years, Sean additionally held the position of President of the Ontario Osteopathic Association (later known as OSTCAN) while working in insurance relations and developing ethical practice management procedures. In 2014, Sean retired from teaching, stepped down as President of the OOA, and moved to London with his wife, Sue, and their two children, where they opened a multi-disciplinary clinic at 747 Hyde Park Rd.

On September 18th, 2020, Sean returned as an elected member of the OSTCAN Board of Directors and resumed his previous position as President of the Association. During this time, he worked with a strong and dedicated Board of Directors to radically change the political realm of OMPs to be delisted under personal care services and legally recognized as an independent healthcare profession under the Ministry of Health and the existing schedule. In June of 2021, the OSTCAN board successfully won their case with the ministry so that OMPs could legally work during lockdowns, be recognized as an independent form of health care, and help those in need of essential care during that challenging time in history.

Over the past several years, Sean has completed courses throughout the USA and Canada focusing on leadership skills, chronic pain management, self-enhancement and personal development, coaching, and mindfulness.

Since the spring of 2018, Sean focused his educational pursuits on the individual’s mental, emotional, and spiritual challenges during the healing process. During this time, he furthered his education by completing a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in counselling at the Canada Christian College, where he was also ordained. Through these additional levels of education, Sean offers counselling services apart from his osteopathic practice, which focuses on chronic pain management, life skills, pastoral care, family, and marriage. Consulting services draw upon Sean’s experience in clinical practice management, years of teaching osteopathic principles and practice, and overall treatment approach.

Marsha is a classically trained Osteopathic practitioner and has graduated from the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy (CAO). She is a member in good standing with the Ontario Osteopathic Association (OOA). Prior to her education at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy, she graduated from the University of Western Ontario with an Honour’s degree in Sociology, followed by a Master’s Degree in Social Demographics, specializing in the migratory and employment patterns of immigrant women into Canada. Not wanting to move to Ottawa and commit her life to research, she then obtained a Diploma in Education with the intention of becoming a high school teacher. During her education in Teacher’s College, she suffered with chronic appendicitis. After repeatedly being told that her appendix was not large enough to remove and to manage her symptoms with pain medication each time during flare ups, she began searching for alternative forms of care. During this search for natural alternatives, she began to turn to the power of plants and herbs and from here delved into making her own herbal teas and tinctures followed soon after by making her own herbal-based skincare. At this point, Marsha was intent on pursuing a career as an herbalist or a naturopathic doctor. Marsha’s chronic appendicitis had improved, though, not disappeared. One fateful day, her sister suggested looking into an Osteopathic Practitioner. That is precisely what Marsha did. After a mere 4 treatments her flare ups were practically non-existent and she was awe- struck. Marsha looked around the room to look for the practitioner’s credentials and where she was educated and saw a piece of paper on an obscure bookshelf that said Canadian Academy of Osteopathy. Following this, she promptly went home and looked it up on the internet and decided upon this as her life path. Marsha is continually engaged in furthering her education and uses a wide variety of techniques during treatment. Marsha is attentive to her patients and their progression while in her care. In her spare time, Marsha enjoys swimming and is still passionate about natural health care and herbs.
